Dog Training- Teaching commands with water hose

www.sitmeanssit.com You can teach different dog training commands with a water hose as you can see in this daily dog training video. Although a dog may like water, a dog not necessarily will be very passionate about water coming from a hose, so this would be limited to dogs that really like water from a hose. You could also teach the dog to go under, over, or through objects with a hose if he really is passionate about the hose, but in this video we are showing how we would teach them to just get into water.

Dog Training – Proofing the ‘Tunnel’ command

www.sitmeanssit.com In this daily dog training video, we are showing how to ‘proof’ a tunnel command. We are assuming that the dog already knows how to go through a tunnel, and can do it at a decent degree of efficiency. This is just another imaginative way for the dog to stay focused on the behavior task at hand. Tunnels can be used as part of agility dog training, or other types of obedience used by trainers. Also to be noted in this video is the fact that because of the distance involved, the dog would be capable of seeing the toy before he got to the tunnel and would further his chances of just avoiding the tunnel and going right to the toy. The dog is released with a ‘tunnel’ command so that he knows to go through the tunnel, or whatever similar command that may be used by the handler.

Dog Training – Proofing a Conformation Stand with Great Dane

www.sitmeanssit.com This is a lesson with us teaching and proofing a ‘stand’ command to a conformation dog that is a Great Dane, so that it is very steady through distraction while maintaining a stand position. There will be lots of movement and activity around a conformation ring, so it is important that the dog remains steady and standing through that distraction. We are getting the dog used to lots of different pictures as he soon sees them as just normal.

Dog Training – Great first lesson for 2 small dogs

www.sitmeanssit.com In this daily dog training video, we see a great transition in both the owner, and the 2 little dogs that she owns and loves that is going to make her life much easier. She learned how to confidently handle the Sit Means Sit remote dog training collar pretty well for her first lesson, and should have her dogs off leash around distraction in no time! She also saw very clearly that she could give the dogs all the commands she wanted previously, but until we have the dogs attention, most words are pretty meaningless.
